What You Need To Know About CBD Oil & Dosing
The first thing new users need to realise about choosing the right CBD oil and dose is that it’s a personal question and there’s no ‘one size fits all’ answer.
Whether you’re a first-time user or an experienced user, understanding how CBD works and how to use it can be somewhat confusing, especially since the industry is so new.
The Many Ways Of Ingesting CBD
The three most common methods of consuming CBD are:
- Sublingual oral oil
- CBD e-liquid
- CBD edibles
CBD e-liquid such as Harmony, CBD VG, Re-Leaf and CBDeala have made CBD a pleasantly sweet experience, masking the raw taste of CBD but ensuring you get all the benefits. We stock flavours of the likes of O.G Kush, Super Lemon Haze, Mango Kush, Strawberry Hemp, Mint Hemp & Original Hemp from Harmony, Strawberry Dream, Pink Dude, Ice Cloud, Blue Slush, Pineapple Cloud, Heisenberry Blueberry Mist & Original from CBD VG, as well as Skunk No. 1 and Blueberry Kush from Re-Leaf.
If vaping is not of your interest and a sublingual oral oil is more suitable, we stock a range of high quality oils that can be ingested by dripping 6-10 drops of oil under the tongue, morning and night. This is the most effective and beneficial method of ingesting CBD.
The CBD bypasses the digestive system and the processing of the liver, directly entering the bloodstream through the blood vessels and capillaries under the tongue. This prevents the effects of the CBD oil from decreasing through digestion.
It is also to be noted that CBD oil can also be added to foods and drinks to obtain the nutrients and benefits, however, this technique takes slightly longer to enter your endocannabinoid system through digestion, and could possibly decrease your chances of attaining the full benefits of CBD.
Furthermore, CBD can be ingested through many edibles such as CBD Hemp Cookies, Hemp Bio Protein Powder, Gummies, Teas and CBD Honey, all of which we stock on our shelves.
For sublingual oral oil, your CBD intake will depend on how much (if) you currently take, as well what your personal budget is. One thing to be noted when it comes to CBD is that you can never take too much. If your budget allows, 6-10 drops in the morning and evening will highly maximise the benefits you reap from CBD.
That being said, if you have never taken CBD, it is advisable to start off slow on a low dose (from 1-2 milligrams daily) and gradually work your way up to a dose you’re comfortable with. It is also recommended to try increase your dosage every 3-4 weeks by 25mg until symptom relief, and to decrease the amount of CBD with any worsening of symptoms.
As with taking CBD sublingually, vaping CBD should be managed the same way – start slowly on a low dose and gradually work your way up to a desired strength. If you’re inexperienced at vaping CBD, try vaping 10mg of CBD on your first day. If you notice positive results, stay with that for a week or so. Again, it’s important to remember that everybody’s body is different. If you don’t “feel” anything, try 20mg the next day. Work up to about 30mg of CBD per day, once a week is enough for most users to feel relaxed and clear-headed.
Some CBD users consume much more than this, upwards of 200mg per day, easy. You’ll generally find these users have been vaping/using CBD for quite some time and have experimented with different doses, finding a balance that is right for them.
